Salary: Non-paying Position

Paloma Hospice and Palliative Care is seeking compassionate and caring volunteers to join our Volunteer Program. We service patients and communities in the areas of San Antonio, Austin, Del Rio, Dallas, Sherman and Tyler Texas.

What is a Hospice Volunteer?

Volunteers spend time with our hospice patients, providing support to those who may not have family as well as providing support for the family. Volunteers visit as a friend and provide companionship. Our volunteer program helps family members take a break so they can be rejuvenated as a caregiver, go shopping, or keep doctor appointments while their loved one has companionship from a volunteer. Being a hospice volunteer often become the highlight of someone’s day.

Some examples of volunteer duties are:

* Providing companionship to a patient and their family

* Being a comforting and supportive presence

* Providing respite time for the patient’s caregivers

* Running errands or doing light housekeeping for the patient and family

* Community outreach

* Office support
