Paloma Hospice and Palliative Care is Hiring a Hospice Compliance RN Near PLANO, TX

Hospice Compliance Nurse - Plano, TX

This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards in the hospice programs. As a resource to senior leadership, the Hospice Compliance Nurse will provide guidance and support on issues of compliance and quality assurance/improvement.

JOB SUMMARY

The Hospice Compliance Nurse is a registered nurse responsible for maintaining quality and program integrity in the organization. In collaboration with area Directors, they will review charts, develop educational materials, and ensure compliance with all standards, guidelines, and regulations. This role also involves indirect patient care services, primarily through medical record reviews according to organizational policies and procedures. Applicants for this position must already understand Texas, Federal and OIG oversight regulatory conditions of participation for Medicare and Medicaid.

  • Conduct audits and ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and QAPI programs.
  • Coordinate discussions and development of improvement plans related to quality outcomes at leadership meetings.
  • Serve as a resource to hospice programs and senior leadership on compliance and quality assurance/improvement.
  • Have strong organizational skills and competency with Microsoft Office, email, reporting and follow-up.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have previous experience in hospice care in compliance.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Wellsky Consolo experience preferred. 
  • Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State.
  • Three to five years of clinical nursing experience, with a preference for home care/hospice nursing.
  • Strong knowledge of hospice regulatory standards, with at least two years of hospice experience in compliance.
  • Ability to conduct compliance and quality audits.
  • Ability to execute QAPI and all performance improvement plans.
  • Excellent understanding of performance improvement, quality assessment, and utilization management.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and be self-directed.
