    Job Overview:
    The successful candidate will provide support to students, families, and the District through clinical activities, instruction, agency coordination, and mental health supports. The School Social Worker will assist students in developing skills that promote healthy academic, behavioral, and social success by collaborating with K-12 school staff. This position will be for a secondary (grades 6-12) social worker.
    Qualifications:
    • Must have completed a Master’s degree in social work and hold a current Licensed as a Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issues by the Pennsylvania Department of State.
    • PA Educational Specialist I/II School Social Worker PK-12 (1851) Certificate preferred.
    • Previous experience working in a school-setting is preferred.
    Responsibilities:
    • Must possess an ability for working in complex situations, visiting homes or service facilities, and strengthen the connections between home, school, and community agencies.
    • Coordinate the direct and indirect services, serve as an advocate, and assist students/families to gain access to needed resources while addressing their personal, social, emotional, and development issues.
    • Serve as a support to families, community resources, and social service agencies concerning educational issues to help promote school success, coordinating and collaborating within the school, as well as with other divisions/departments.
    • Serve as a critical liaison between school, family, and community resources.
    • Assist with completing assessments and developing interventions to promote school attendance, academic, behavioral, and social success.
    • Supporting students who have traumatic experiences or are at risk of experiencing trauma.
    • Case management of students with ongoing mental health needs/placements.
    • Assist with addressing students’ social/emotional needs through individual counseling and/or conducting small groups, based on needs.
    • Support K-12 Student Assistance Program (SAP), and topics in Act 44.
    • Develop programs for training and implementation across K-12 needs.
