Job Summary

The Spa Director will lead and create standards for the day-to-day operations of the Spa and Fitness Center while promoting growth and profitability. Effectively manage operational aspects of the spa to include adequate staffing levels, complete financial management's duties including: budgeting, forecasting, payroll and scheduling, as well as product inventory and ordering, establishing and maintaining high level of customer service based on The Palms South Beach principles oversees the Spa Manager, Spa Front Desk, Massage Therapists, Estheticians and staff ensuring proper techniques and service standards are met.

Job Duties /Tasks / Results/ Responsibilities

• Maintain and increase spa revenue.
• Participate in the development and oversee the implementation of the spa operating budget.
• Oversee daily operations of the facility with emphasis on guest service, cleanliness, safety, fiscal responsibility (i.e. staffing, payroll, expenses, and revenue generation), staff guidance and support to make the fitness center the best facility in order to support Hotel goals.
• Hire, train and develop contract staff of massage therapists and any other contract situation, which may arise.
• Promote the facility and its services to hotel guests and solicit, sell and service outside memberships
• Acts as the primary representative of the hotel in all sales interactions with outside clients, internal guests and group contacts
• Plans and coordinates activities, programs and packages
• Regularly review the pricing and services offered by the spa to maintain a competitive position within the market
• Recommend, plan and execute marketing plans and strategies
• Development and execution of all internal promotions including follow up analysis
• Manage and plan all events in Spa and Fitness
• Manage retail operation and all spa related merchandise
• Ensure fitness center in clean and all equipment operational
• Other related duties as necessary

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

• Minimum 3 to 5 years management experience in a high quality Luxury Spa facility either as an independent or in hospitality setting.
• Must be experienced and knowledgeable of spa operations and current trends.
• Experience in Spa Marketing, including product launches and strategies preferably in local market
• Steiner background and extensive pre-opening experience preferred
• Ability to communicate fluently in other languages is a plus
• Working knowledge of common computer programs and systems. Financial and analytical skills preferred
• A guest service philosophy
• An ability to multi-task in a fast paced climate
• Ability to work a flexible schedule

Physical Demands /Requirement
Most of the time spent standing, walking or there are some requirement to lift moderate weight (20-50 pounds)
