Palmetto State Bank is Hiring a Loan Processor Near HAMPTON, SC

Palmetto State Bank is searching for a loan processor to assist in our real estate department. Our ideal candidate keeps up with mortgage loan trends and developments. You will be a good fit if you are detail oriented, can swiftly identify customer needs, meet loan processing goals and work in a fast paced environment. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities:

* Process and close loans from initial set-up through funding

* Obtain loan income, asset and credit approvals

* Ensure all conditions and requirements of underwriting and investors have been met

* Maintain a pipeline of loans with an emphasis on customer service, quality, accuracy and efficiency

* Learn and maintain knowledge of different loan programs

* Maintain status and information within processing software system

* Keep current with investor and internal guideline changes

* Maintain continued, effective communication with borrowers, escrow/title, sales agents and Loan Officers

* Ensure loan is prepared for closing by having all title work and HOI in file and reviewed

* Clear, concise communication with closing attorney, paralegal, insurance agents and realtors

* Ensure accuracy of HMDA documentation

* Proficiency in handling confidential information and documents

* Perform post closing checks

Qualifications:

* Excellent customer service skills

* Excellent written and verbal communication and follow-up skills

* Extremely comfortable speaking on the phone with clients and external parties

* Team oriented, flexible and accountable

* Strong attention to detail

* Excellent time management skills

* Strong sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines

* Problem solver

* Loan processing experience a plus
