This position is responsible for the laser marking of components. A laser operator will run laser marking equipment and is responsible for the loading/unloading, visual inspection, and making routine adjustments. Laser Operators must follow all operator instructions along with strict adherence to the Quality System. This job is to laser serial numbers and logos of the companies provided to ensure the variance marking is correct. 

• Check for conforming parts before laser operation. 
• Confirm that the serial numbers are in sequential order.
• Tumble, wash, and pack the parts before anodizing and make sure all serial numbers are verified with QA.
• Adhere to all Safety Principles.
• Adhere to all Quality System Standards.
• Operate laser marking machines.
• Make required adjustments to maintain specifications utilizing engineering drawings, verbal instructions, written Operator Instructions, engineering drawings and boundary samples.
• Process components within established operator cycle times.
• Visually inspect components and test complete assemblies using calibrated test and measuring equipment.
• Prepare required written documentation, i.e., Product Acceptance Records and Nonconforming Material Reports.
• Assist in on-the-job training of other employees.
• Participate in Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to read and understand Safety Rules, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to operate laser equipment.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools.
• Ability to use calibrated test and measuring equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with work group.
• Ability to apply problem solving techniques to troubleshoot and implement corrective action. 
• Attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Self-motivator.

Employees work in a controlled climate. Overtime hours may be required including weekends.

The employee will be sitting, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, on a daily basis. The employee must have the ability to lift up to forty-five pounds. They must be able to stand, bend and reach for an 8-12-hour shift.
