Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health is now seeking to fill a Full-time Financial Counselor and Medicare MCO Collector position.

Position Summary

The Financial Counselor and Medicare MCO Collector will be responsible for working the Inpatient and Outpatient admission packets from the previous day to ensure the accuracy of demographics and insurance information. Effectively explain and educate patients on their financial responsibility to the facility in a clear, concise, and professional manner at or before discharge.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for verifying insurance, credit reports, Medicare, and additional data for admission of patients.
• Reviews EOBs for proper payment, documents any denials and resolves denied amounts on a timely basis.
• Ensures proper contractual discounts and codes are utilized to net accounts receivable.
• Enters insurance and billing information into system for patients being admitted.

Schedule

Day shift, 40 hours per week
