Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the nursing unit. This is a leadership position that requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the nursing unit
- Provide direct patient care, including patient assessment, medication administration, and IV insertion
- Monitor patients' conditions and respond to changes in their health status
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of medical records
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Skills:
- ER experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficient in patient assessment and triage
- Skilled in IV insertion and medication administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Basic life support certification
