Job Summary: Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor at construction projects on the mountain and in the base area.

Applicants must be 18 years of age.
Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:
  • Clean and prepare a job site.
  • Load and unload trucks, haul and hoist materials. Load and deliver materials.
  • Use a variety of tools and machines, such as shovels, tape measures, blowtorches, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers and water spraying equipment.
  • Set up and take down ladders, scaffolding and other temporary structures.
  • Install and glue conduit in a dirt ditch as well as accurately use shade sand and marking tape to properly backfill ditch.
  • Operate dirt compactors; jumping jack and plate whacker.
  • Assist carpenters, painters, masons, equipment operators and other specialized contractors.
  • Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site daily to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Follow all proper safety protocols as trained.
Competencies and Job Requirements:
  • Effective communication skills, especially oral.
  • Strong sense of safety awareness.
  • Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards.
  • Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time.
  • Work well as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 10 hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 80 lbs. Must be capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and balancing, able to climb ladders and shovel snow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions, mostly sun and uneven surfaces. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions.
Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate to loud at times.
Equipment Used in Job: Shovel, spade, pick, power drills, ear and eye protection, hard hat, safety clothing, tape measure, saws, dirt compactor and a variety of construction tools.
Education and Experience:
Preferred:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience as a laborer but not necessary.
  • Good maintenance skills.
Hourly:
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Base hourly pay range: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
