PALFINGER is searching for a Quality Specialist. We are located in Trenton, NJ. This position reports to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspection on all products during the manufacturing processes and final inspection prior to product delivery including Final Vehicle inspection.
  • Prepare, complete and maintain all reports and procedures electronically.
  • Perform incoming inspection on raw and finished good material.
  • Use all inspection equipment, i.e., hand measurement tools, fixture gauges and other inspection equipment as required.
  • Write Non-conformance reports to suppliers for warranty and inspected component failures.
  • Work with customers, suppliers and internal departments as required to resolve quality issues.
  • Participates in root cause analysis and development of corrective/preventive actions.
  • Assist in investigation of product defects and recommendations of modifications in product, process and /or quality standards as warranted.
  • Engaging with production teams to manage non-conforming product and to drive cost of non-quality reductions.
  • Apply knowledge, experience and production best practices to result in continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of quality systems including but not limited to receiving inspection, final inspection, in-line inspection, and various process audits.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all quality assurance work areas.
  • Ensure all quality standards and procedures are followed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Quality Engineering preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills to be able to read, write and communicate, in detail, problems to coworkers, managers and suppliers as needed.
  • Must be able to properly use, read and measure with various measuring devices to include, but not limited to the following: Precision Hand Tools including Calipers, Micrometers, Gauges and Squares
  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (Faro Arm) with Training.
  • Ability to work efficiently, read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, specifications and follow work instructions and procedures.
  • Hands-on Mechanical experience, automotive or transportation related preferred, does not need to be professional experience.
  • Strong decision making skills and attention to detail required.
  • Must possess basic computer skills - writing e-mails, filling out webforms, and entering data into spreadsheets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is a plus.
