Palco is Hiring a Remote ACCOUNTANT I - REMOTE

The Accountant I performs various accounting functions within the Palco, including those related to bookkeeping, program operations, reporting, and payroll taxes.

Essential Functions:

  • Recording transactions in general ledger
  • Managing company credit card and analyzing employee expenditures
  • Posting Accounts Receivable
  • Following up with the Billing Department on outstanding A/R
  • Reconciling bank statements via Excel or accounting software
  • Performing basic bookkeeping duties
  • Managing vendor payments and working with vendors on payment issues, including calling and emailing vendors
  • Posts payroll to the general ledger
  • Ensures that payroll taxes are paid timely and accurately
  • Preparing financial reports
  • Making purchases for office equipment and supplies

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting competencies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and competency in computer software (e.g. SAP).
  • NetSuite experience a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Experience working in all areas of accounting.
  • Experience with Accounting software and data entry.
