The Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be part developer, and part operations, with a mindset to automate everything. In this role you’ll push continuous integration and ensure smooth and efficient delivery of software systems across a broad range of company-wide infrastructure. You will help architect and operate essential cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure and GCP, as well as novel solutions for disconnected environments. Our ideal candidate cares deeply about improving the overall automated testing and delivery story, as well as the communications between all engineers, customers, and management relying on the infrastructure. You will be partnering closely with other organizations in the delivery pipeline to build a collaborative atmosphere between teams that focus on application development, data science, and infrastructure management.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage and secure Linux-based cloud systems and networks.
- Research, evaluate, develop and deploy new applications across all production environments to create efficiencies and eliminate manual work.
- Automate management and monitoring systems to maintain application reliability and performance within SLOs.
- Build ephemeral, scalable containerized application infrastructure systems using micro-services best practices.
- Introduce continuous improvements to our build and release processes and tooling.
- Investigate, characterize, and resolve service and infrastructure problems to ensure we are meeting SLAs.
- Stay up to date on industry best practices and standards.
Technologies We Use
- Languages: Python, Go
- Systems Management: Terraform, Docker/Nomad/Consul/Vault, and Ansible
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure
- Linux: Ubuntu 18.04
What We Value
- Experience in a similar role or related technical field.
- Experience overseeing and developing highly-available and distributed software.
- Coding/scripting fluency in at least one language, and a commitment to automating solutions.
- Experience designing and owning features through from development to deployment in production environments.
Preferred
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience building and implementing load testing solutions
- Experience with cost & performance optimization
