PalAmerican Security is Hiring a Security officer Near Yakima, WA

Pay rate : $17.00 - $19.00 / hour
Average hours per week : 24-40
Shifts are generally 6 to 9 hours long
Schedule availability :
- Part time, Thursday through Sunday, 3rd shift (overnight)
- Full time, Monday through Friday, 1st shift (day shift)
You will be a great fit if you
- Are at least 21 years of age
- Have a minimum of 1 year Security experience
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Are able to provide proof of High School diploma, GED or higher education.
- Possess a valid Washington State Security License or be willing to obtain one. If you do not have a Washington State Security License, you will be responsible for paying the fees to obtain one.
The 2024 SGL costs are $31.05 for fingerprints and $101.00 for the License application. There is also an unpaid mandatory State SGL class that you will be required to complete.
Have effective verbal and written communication skills
What you will do
- Maintain a physical presence, serving as a visible deterrent to illegal activity to include but not limited to interacting with transients to deter them from setting up shelters, from panhandling, and from sleeping in unauthorized areas.
- Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Drive a company patrol vehicle
- Engage in high volume public interactions
- Write detailed and accurate reports outlining any incidents that occur at your location
- Ensure the continual safety and security of site staff and visitors
- Provide an empathetic approach to managing any escalated persons and situations, utilizing verbal deeseclation skills when required
- Positively contribute to the overall experience and atmosphere by providing superior customer care to anyone you interact with
