Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and employees. Shift - 8am - 4pm.
The mall security officer’s responsibilities include performing regular patrols and observations, reporting irregularities, providing crowd control, answering queries, assisting customers and staff and maintaining order at all times.
To be successful, you should be able to react appropriately in stressful conditions. Outstanding candidates are passionate about protecting others and have a deep respect for human life.
Responsibilities:
- Patrolling and monitoring premises to detect any irregularities, which may include suspicious behavior or security breaches.
- Keeping calm when alarms are triggered and escorting people to safety or apprehending the guilty parties.
- Responding to calls for help and contacting the fire department or law enforcement if required.
- Assisting during emergencies, ensuring minimal injury to people and damage to property.
- Removing or restraining anyone who threatens the safety or disturbs the peace.
- Wearing security uniform and maintaining appearance as part of the security team.
- Following orders and working as part of a team to ensure the safety of staff and customers.
- Writing up daily reports and providing suggestions for improved security.
- Undertaking all tasks with the utmost integrity and professionalism.
- Have a detailed understanding of the Chapel Hills Mall Emergency Operations Procedures including but not limited to Evacuation Procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- A clean criminal record.
- A relevant license and certification.
- Previous security experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent observation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of safety protocols.
- A valid driver’s license.
