PalAmerican is a growing security company, operating in over 16 states! We specialize in providing security solutions for healthcare, commercial, industrial, educational, and government facilities. Our dedicated management team is comprised of security professionals who have years of experience in the field – many of whom started as Security Officers!
We are looking for an Operations Manager to support the security operations of our company. Security personnel will be under your direction. You must be able to communicate effectively and possess positive leadership skills. Administrative efficiency is required to perform scheduling and payroll activities.
This position required the candidate to be available 24/7 365 days a year.
The pay rate for this position is dependent on experience.
Job Skills / RequirementsThe Operations Manager shall:
· determine which security officers are appropriate for specific sites and, if necessary, passes them on to Site Supervisors or clients for interviewing and training
· Oversees the evaluation process as it relates to the security officers and supervisors, provides motivational and disciplinary actions for all security personnel
· Devises training regimens and site orders for each site and ensures that all officers are properly trained prior to working by themselves
Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Primary contact for all officers and supervisors regarding all issues not directly related to Compliance. Escalates issue to HR or Director of Operations as needed.
• Works with Director of Operations and HR to develop and execute recruiting strategy to attract quality candidates. Assists with interviews and hires qualified applicants to fill open positions in a proactive and timely manner, following company interviewing guidelines.
• Makes initial/conditional job offers (for new employees) and job transfers (for existing employees) using company forms and procedures, offering rates, schedules, and benefits in alignment with post contract requirements.
• Maintains a qualified, sufficient pool of rovers for backfill of vacant positions as needed.
• Coaches and assists supervisors with accident investigations, coaching, training and disciplinary procedure. Site supervisors report to the Operations Manager.
• Conduct disciplinary and counseling sessions with Security Officers as needed in a proactive and professional manner. Ensures all such issues are documented according to company standards, and that all issues receive proper follow up for resolution.
• Maintains regular proactive contact with Security Officers to ensure all staff is being effectively utilized, properly trained, and ready for placement as needed. Reviews staffing with HR Manager and Field Manager on a regular basis
• Maintains high employee morale and low employee turnover through effective and proactive communications and timely problem resolution.
• Ensure a smooth-running operation by enforcing post specific policies and procedures through proper communication and training.
• Maintains a well-organized, clean, and effective working area, and ensure all daily, weekly, and bi-weekly deadlines are consistently met. Prepares and runs all required reports as directed by managers, reviews such reports in a timely manner with management team, and takes appropriate action as necessary to address any report discrepancies or operational issues
Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Prior security industry and/or military experience preferred. College degree or coursework desirable.
• Minimum 2 – 5 years of professional-level experience required, managing employees in a fast-paced, service organization. Prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, military and/or customer service highly desired. Experience in scheduling, operations and/or employee management in a service-related industry a significant plus.
• Ability to write effective and concise reports and document investigations and counseling sessions.
· Must be able to effectively communicate coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions, as well as termination meetings in a professional manner in accordance with company standards.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software or Google Office Suite. Ability to learn and efficiently operate various timekeeping, payroll programs, Incident and Tour reports, such as Winteam, eHub, Drivecam, and TrakTik
• Demonstrated ability to be very customer service oriented, with the ability to successfully interact with all levels in the organization in a courteous and professional manner, while functioning as a team player.
· Must demonstrate an effective ability to de-escalate situations before they become hostile or unpleasant.
• Energetic and focused personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple assignments/projects and effectively manage deadlines.
· Must demonstrate a high level of integrity, and apply rules, policies, and employment actions in a consistent, fair, and equitable manner in all situations.
• Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to read, write and speak English in a clear, concise manner
• Covers open shifts as needed.
• Performs additional projects or tasks as may be directed by managers.
