Interpersonal Relationships: As a representative of Virtuoso Medical Management, all comments, attitudes, actions, and behaviors have a direct affect on the Center’s image and perceptions of quality service. Interaction with patients, families, physicians, referral sources, affiliating schools, visitors, teammates, managers, vendors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork, which is congruent with center standards and guidelines to promote positive relations.
Internal relationships: All departments, all teammates, patients, physicians, visitors, contractors.
External relationships: Regulatory agencies, accreditation organizations, professional practice organizations.
Licenses or Certifications: None required.
Education, vocational training, and experience: High school diploma. Medical Assistant certifications. 3 years medical
assisting experience. Pain Management experience a plus.
Skills and Abilities: Excellent customer services skills and ability to diffuse difficult situations. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must convey a high-level understanding of pain management conditions and treatment options. Strong interpersonal skills. Flexible and adaptable to change. Accurate with extraordinary attention to detail.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Checks in patients at front desk and collects necessary documentation prior to appointment time
2. Checks out patients and schedules follow-up appointments as requested by provider
3. Greeting and directing patients with a positive and professional demeanor
4. Act as liaison between patients and billing department regarding charges, payments, and insurance
5. Collect patient in-office payments and document and balance at the end of business day
6. Collects co-pays and other payments and records payments accurately
7. Answers the phones as necessary and responds to and triages patient messages and requests
8. Maintain forms and office supplies required for front desk activities, and inventorying supplies as needed
9. Provide outstanding service to our patients, physicians, and fellow team members
10. Key data into computer to maintain office and patient records
11. Assists manager and physicians, as reasonably required
12. Comply with patient needs at all times
13. Interact with Physicians, patients and staff providing accurate, timely and responsive information
14. Identify and report issues and inefficiencies which potentially prohibit new patient volume to management
15. Collaborate with physicians, colleagues and management to implement solutions to problems
16. Remain HIPAA compliant at all times
17. Support goals and objectives of the company
18. Performs other job duties as assigned
