We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team. In this position you will interface with all functions of our company and play a key role in ensuring our continued success.

We are all working from home and when it is safe to return, this position will be hybrid based in our NYC office located in Times Square.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with legal regulations, policies and procedures relating to compliance, and best practices in Finance
• Record cash receipts and disbursements, prepare bank and credit card reconciliations
• Manage designated client accounts with the proper invoicing within standard policies reflective of company and client requirements, while assuring timely and accurate collections
• Assist with sales tax calculations and return filings 
• Manage vendor relationships, including setting up new vendors and responding to vendor inquiries 
• Maintain vendor records, ensuring all vendor documents (e.g. W-8/W-9) are received 
• Enter accounts payable invoices into AP system, confirming G/L coding and investigating any discrepancies 
• Maintain and update rollforward schedules 
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close process 
• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) and related variance analyses (against prior periods, prior year, budget and forecast) 
• Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements, management and board reporting, and audit/tax returns 
• Assist with new and ongoing projects including financial system implementations

About You

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 3 years’ corporate or startup accounting experience, with previous big-four public accounting experience a plus, but not required
• CPA license or taking proactive steps to passing the CPA exam is preferred
• Proficiency in Excel is required (pivot tables, v-look ups, etc.)
• Strong knowledge in accounting ERP systems is a plus
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Cross collaborative - both internally across the organization and externally
