Summary:

Responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Supervisor or Executive Housekeeper with the day to day operation and supervision of activities within the Housekeeping department. Responsible for cleaning and preparing assigned rooms for hotel guests. Responsible for handling guests requests or complaints quickly and courteously. Ensure clean, orderly and attractive conditions of hotel rooms.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Help train, develop, measure performance, discipline, and schedule department staff
  • Maintain standards of service within the housekeeping department
  • Ensure work schedules offer adequate service and meet hotel occupancy requirements
  • Make visual inspections of elevators, stairwells, lobby areas, storage areas and equipment as it applies to the Housekeeping Department to identify tasks requiring immediate action
  • Ensure maintenance and cleanliness of all equipment assigned to the Housekeeping Department
  • Advise staff of any special projects to be done that day
  • Check schedules and instruct all team members carefully so that they fully understand the assigned tasks, location of work area and equipment required to do the job
  • Ensure work schedules offer adequate service and meet hotel occupancy requirements
  • Inform the status board of any items left in a checkout room
  • Excellent communication skills; knowledge in room cleaning and shampooing
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management, staff and co-workers; pleasant personality, team oriented and enjoys working with and assisting people
  • Responsible for all housekeeping team members and training of same
  • Responsible for cleanliness, daily up-keep and inspection of assigned areas
  • Supervise the proper storage, dilution and distribution of cleaning products and supplies as it applies to the Housekeeping Department
  • Perform special tasks as directed by the Hotel Manager
  • Responsible for control and supply flow for all linens as required
  • Be familiar with OSHA regulations with regard to Hazcom training and blood borne pathogens
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Check status of the rooms during morning and afternoon room check, and update the status of room via the telephone after completing cleaning assignment in checkout rooms
  • Maintain high standards of guest relations when in contact with the guests, and assist with extra towels, soap, shampoo, lotion, note pads, etc., when requested
  • Responsible for cleanings guest rooms as assigned by Supervisor
  • Properly load your cart per specifications at the beginning of your shift
  • Service all stay-over rooms, changing sheets/pillow slips daily and replenishing towels/amenities as needed
  • Clean all check-out rooms thoroughly, with close attention to detail, changing sheets and pillow slips in each room
  • Handle biohazard spills in accordance with company procedures as well as OSHA guidelines
  • Change bath rugs in checkout rooms, replenishing towels and amenities as needed
  • Inform the status board of any items left in a checkout room
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • One month of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a team or group environment
  • Ability to functionally communicate occupational-based English, both written and verbal
  • Able to interact with guests in a professional and courteous manner
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Verify right to work in the United States

  • Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail

  • Communicate via radios utilizing proper radio etiquette
