Job Summary: The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for supplier onboarding, overseeing the goods receipt process and addressing concerns, reporting procurement KPI and creating and maintaining asset numbers and item numbers.

Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

  • Experienced level of professional purchasing activities, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in business and 1 years of experience, or equivalent. Team Members at this level have the authority to purchase at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, delivery and other factors, raw materials, equipment, machinery and/or supplies for the operation of the organization.
  • Onboard suppliers working with other procurement team members, internal stakeholders, and suppliers to collect and enter all necessary information, including training suppliers on accessing the supplier portal of our procurement software.
  • Oversees goods receipt process for indirect materials and services, following up with internal stakeholders and accounting on missing receipts and unmatched invoices.
  • Report on key department metrics such as First Pass Yield providing explanations for changes in each metric.
  • Create and maintain PADNOS equipment asset numbers in our asset tracking system.
  • Assist with stock item creation.
  • Assist with ordering stock items.
  • Materials purchased are processed, consumed, or used in the organization and are not purchased for direct resale. This is not a merchandising buyer.

Required/Desired Qualifications & Motor/Sensory/Physical Requirements:

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field required.
  • Proven experience in indirect materials procurement, with a focus on cost savings and process improvement.
  • Industrial/manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous experience facilitating and managing change within an organization preferred.

Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Basic comprehension of finance and accounting, including sales/use tax and how cost centers and charge accounts are tied to departments for coding orders/invoices.
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures (requisitions, RFPs, sourcing events, receiving, etc.).
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and e-procurement tools.
  • Process oriented, accountable, and disciplined; must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Motor/Sensory/Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and performing repetitive motions.
  • Moderate to high level of mental and/or visual fatigue and eyestrain may result from looking at a computer screen for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional bending at the waist, stooping, kneeling, and crouching, and occasionally ascending and descending stairs.
  • The ability to lift up to 15 pounds frequently; the ability to lift 15-50 pounds very occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate modern office equipment.
  • Ability to travel between sites occasionally as needed.
