Overview
As coach to our drivers, you will have a wide range of responsibility and autonomy to ensure that our driver and customer needs are being met. It is our goal to ensure that PADNOS attracts and retains great talent. To be successful in this role it is imperative that clear, consistent, and appropriate communication is occurring between the LPT Coach and the driver team.
Accountabilities
- Monitor and encourage participation in the Safety Responsiblity Rules training and hold the drivers accountable. Self-report safety rule violations.
- Ensure that all damages, injuries, and close calls are reported in Velocity within 24 hours
- Partner with the EHS team on all tier 2 investigations to ensure that appropriate and impactful corrective actions are implemented
- Performance management of the driver team with the weekly review driver KPIs, recognizing and rewarding great performance and identifying opportunities for improvement (driver ride-a-longs)
- Review and approve all driver time and attendance using TSP
- Compliance monitoring and complete driver files working with Fleet Compliance Group (including truck inspections and on road recorded violations)
- Responsible for onboarding and training of new driver team members
- Facilitation of driver and safety meetings (monthly)
- Communicate changes in service requirements for customers and/or material flow changes in our yards
- Coordinate with dispatchers to ensure that service and people needs are met
- Coordinate communication between LPM and driver group related to spare utilization, maintenance needs, scheduling down time, and mediating any disagreements
- Identify opportunities to improve scheduling and daily workflow by utilizing account knowledge
- Ensure successful onboarding of new accounts by suppling driver capacity and recommending appropriate equipment types
- Reduction of driver walk ups and road calls by holding drivers accountable for proper pre and post trip inspections
- Leverage Compology for increased weight per trip
