PAD Specialists is Hiring a High- Level Medical Assistant, Acute Care Experience - (Foreign Medical Graduates Only) Near Weslaco, TX

Description:

  • Travel between our Brownsville, Edinburg, and Harlingen locations to meet full -time hours required.
  • Seeking a Foreign Medical graduate with experience in acute cure. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in critical conditions, utilizing your expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating acute medical emergencies.
  • Your internal job title is "Clinical Specialist (CS)".
  • You will be trained in our CS1 and CS4 positions.
  • May be required to train at other clinical positions in the clinic, to help cross-cover as needed.
  • We offer a comprehensive training program!

Schedule:

  • 8-12 hour shifts, Monday - Friday, with rotational Saturdays
  • Weekly hours vary depending on volume, but usually range b/w 34-40 hours

Responsibilities:

CS1 Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients admitted to acute care units, including vital signs, neurological status, and overall condition.
  • Monitor patients closely for any changes in health status or signs of deterioration.
  • Administer medications, including intravenous drugs and IV infusions, under personal physician supervision. Monitor patients for adverse reactions and intervene as necessary, again, under personal physician supervision.
  • Be prepared to respond and assist in medical emergencies.
  • Monitor patients in the post-procedure recovery area until they are fully alert and stable. Assess for lingering effects of sedation, such as drowsiness, nausea, or hypotension, and provide supportive care as needed until patients are ready for discharge, according to our protocol.
  • Documenting all information in our EMR.
  • Inventory and supply management

CS4 Responsibilities:

  • Procedure Room Circulator
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients scheduled to undergo conscious sedation procedures.
  • Administer sedative and analgesic medications under personal physician supervision and established protocols. Monitor patients closely for sedation level, respiratory status, and hemodynamic stability throughout the procedure.
  • Ensure that patient flow is running smoothly
  • Making sure the patient has followed all pre-procedure guidelines
  • Reviewing patient charts, labs, H&P
  • Dispensing medications
  • Documenting the procedure and building the report.
  • This position requires a high level of medical knowledge and experience.

Requirements:

  • 2yr commitment required
  • Ideal candidates should have experience with arterial/vascular work in the Procedure Suite/Cath lab/OR.
  • Acute/Emergency care setting experience is required
  • Flexible schedule is a must
  • Spanish fluency required
  • A customer service-oriented attitude, charisma, and excellent bedside manner.
  • Excellent documentation skills with great attention to detail.
  • Tech savviness - Experience with EMR systems and Google Workspace
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
