Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities. This position requires experience in caregiving, social work, and event planning.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in planning and coordinating a variety of activities for residents, including games, crafts, outings, and social events

- Provide support to residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed

- Manage schedules and ensure activities are carried out according to plan

- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and staff members

- Collaborate with the activity director to develop and implement programs that cater to residents' interests and abilities

- Assist with recreational therapy sessions and encourage resident participation

- Provide dementia care support and engage residents in memory-enhancing activities

- Maintain a safe and clean environment for all participants

Experience:

- Previous experience in caregiving or care-related field preferred

- Knowledge of social work principles and practices

- Familiarity with assisting individuals with ADLs

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules effectively

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Experience in event planning is a plus

- Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques is beneficial

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
