Senior Software engineers at Pacific Western Bank design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software to meet business and customer needs. They also mentor and lead others in that effort. Our software engineers work on development initiatives that include:

Responsibilities

• Developing APIs as well as features and capabilities for business partners, end users and external customers.
• Developing platforms such as ERP or other Banking connectors and developer tooling.
• Developing portals for other developers to use and consulting or collaborating with partner development organizations integrating our APIs as needed
• Writing high-quality code that satisfies business and customer needs and strives for simplicity, clarity, and testability.
• Promoting a collaborative team environment and work closely with colleagues to achieve business objectives.
• Collaborating with stakeholders (e.g. business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, and end users) to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
• Investigating and propose solutions to development and design problems.
• Participating in scope of work estimation and forecasting.
• Adhering to architecture, design, implementation, and security standards and best practices.
• Participating in code reviews or use collaborative programming techniques to promote high quality business outcomes.
• Conducting analysis to determine integration needs, and design and plan integrations.
• Implementing unit and integration tests and conduct functional and performance testing where appropriate.
• Developing reusable software building blocks to enable faster delivery.
• Improving performance of existing software by diagnosing and resolving critical issues.
• Preparing technical documentation, including software design evaluation plans, test results, and technical manuals.
• Adhering to established development practices and processes and contribute to their continuing improvement.
• Providing technical leadership, coaching and mentoring of software engineers.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 5 years in Java, JavaScript and HTML, Redhat Linux Shell scripting a plus
• Minimum of 3 years in system integrations using Web services, SOAP and REST APIs
• Experience in building and managing large volume data processing (both streaming and batch) platform and SQL performance optimization
• Experience working in an Agile, cross functional team environment
• Experience in commercial lending or fintech industry preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience
• Strong knowledge in relational database, Oracle and SQL
• Strong knowledge in Web standards and frameworks, HTML5, ReactJS, Spring Boot
• Solid background in utilizing 3rd party integrations and application libraries, experience in Salesforce and Azure is preferred
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating system

Physical Requirements:

• Role requires sitting or standing in front of a computer monitor for prolonged periods of time in a fixed neck position.
• Constant use of a computer or other office equipment resulting in repeating motions of the hands and wrists.
• Light work that may include moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Rewards

National Base Pay Range (annual): $109,984.89 to $170,477.40

Final salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with geographic/market data.
