Position Title: Mover Dude

Compensation:

  • $18 - $21 per hour; Part-Time (Pay-Per-Job)
  • Tips (100% paid to employees)
  • Bonuses: (Performance Bonuses, Review Bonuses)
  • Holiday Pay: 5 paid federal holidays annually

Operating Hours: Thursday - Monday 8:30am-5:00pm

Work Locations: Portions of Whatcom, Skagit, Island, & Snohomish Counties (see )

We are looking for a candidate to join our team as a professional mover. This position is labor intensive, requires you to meet your team at varying locations, and maintain an inventory of moving equipment.

We’re a small, locally owned, high-end moving labor service based in Bellingham, WA. We’ve built our reputation on our dependability, the quality and efficiency of our work, and our friendly, professional customer service.

Our ideal mover is open-minded and eager to learn new skills while also being creative enough to apply those skills in unpredictable situations. A new hire should be prepared to act as a planner, mediator, and team collaborator. They should be ready to exercise emotional intelligence as well as muscle; our kindness and clear communication put our clients at ease, and that’s as important to us as finishing the move safely and on time. Responsibilities:

  • Following our safety standards
  • Coordinating with a team to complete jobs at multiple locations
  • Moving boxes, furniture, etc. This will require lifting, carrying, climbing and descending stairs, using hand trucks, etc.
  • Furniture assembly and disassembly
  • Packing (Residential and Commercial)
  • Securing cargo using rope, ratchet straps, & blankets.
  • Basic customer service and communication

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 1 year or more of general labor experience

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Must be able to Lift and carry up to 125 lbs. repeatedly over varying surfaces, grades, and distances for up to 8 hours on a daily basis
  • Must be able to frequently bend, squat, and reach overhead
  • Must be able to communicate in a loud, fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to communicate with individuals who are not in line-of-sight or when hand use is restricted (Example: during team lifts of large or heavy objects)
  • Must wear company provided uniform
  • Must have up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be dependable & punctual
  • Must be able to regularly work outside in inclement weather
  • Must have a mobile device with the following:
  • An active data plan
  • An active phone number with voicemail
  • GPS functionality with navigation
  • Bluetooth & WiFi wireless connectivity
  • Must carry and maintain some moving equipment
  • Must have your own vehicle and valid WA driver’s license
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must have proof of vehicle insurance that meets the following minimums:

Bodily Injury: $250,000 Per Person / $500,000 Per Accident

Property Damage: $100,000 Per Accident

Hours: This is a part-time, permanent position. However, the hours fluctuate during the year based on moving trends in our service areas. Historically, movers can expect hours to increase to 30-70 hours per month in Summer and Fall, and decrease to about 20-40 hours per month in Winter and Spring. Jobs are staffed based on seniority.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 35 per week
