Department Overview

PG&E's Transportation Services team is responsible for operating and managing one of the largest commercial fleets in the U.S. PG&E has pioneered efficient and sustainable green transportation technologies as part of our commitment to provide safe, reliable and affordable gas and electric service. PG&E's industry leading green fleet includes a range of electric vehicle technologies-from hybrid electric bucket trucks to extended range pickups. Transportation Services is nationally recognized as a leader in green fleet technology and continues to innovate, invest and work closely with our industry, regulators, automakers and other partners to develop policies and best practices.

The Transportation Services department is responsible for managing all aspects of PG&E's vehicles & equipment fleet, from design to disposition. The team is comprised multiple operating departments including Engineering, Field Operations, Business Support, Strategy and Analytics. Operating departments within Transportation Services are responsible for company-wide management of over 14,000 vehicles & equipment, regulatory and compliance issues, capital planning, clean air and alternate fuel initiatives, project support, company policy review, safety and technical analyses.

Position Summary

These roles: support the risk/compliance framework which enables the organization to operate in compliance with applicable standards, laws and regulations; identify, manage, and mitigate operational risk; and help develop and maintain the framework in response to changes to laws, regulations, and standards. For risk management, they work with leaders to track operational risks and effectiveness of risk mitigation activities. May be limited to one regulatory agency or may include multiple agencies, laws, and regulations applicable to a specific department or area of the business.

This Expert Compliance & Risk Consultantwill be overseeing locations within our North Coast area which includes garages in Santa Rosa, Napa, Vallejo, Eureka, etc.so we are seeking a new teammate from these Northern California areas.PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $118,000
Bay Area Maximum: $188,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform physical and documentation quality assessments of vehicle, trailer, and equipment maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Meet with mechanics and leaders to address findings, escalate areas needing improvement, and help educate employees on requirements and procedures.
  • Regularly updates leadership on changes to requirements/standards, metrics, program effectiveness, and opportunities for improvement.
  • May lead company response to regulatory or internal investigations, audits, and other inquiries.
  • Develops compelling data-driven business cases for or against specific courses of action and potential risk mitigation alternatives as appropriate.
  • Provides expertise to leadership and cross-functional teams regarding development, implementation, and monitoring of controls and mitigation plans.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years job-related experience

Desired:

  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in risk management, 4 years
  • Experience in compliance, 4 years
