Pacific Clinics serves children, transitional age youth, families, adults, and older adults. About our program:

Supports Youth ages 6-15. IFSP utilizes a community-based team approach providing counseling, case management, behavioral support, parent coaching, occupational therapy, and community resourcing to families with complex needs. Staff provides a higher frequency of services to support family needs.

Job Summary

Works within the vision, mission, and philosophy of the agency. Provides assessment and related developmental and psychosocial services to youth and their families by engaging and partnering with parents/caregivers so that they can meet the developmental needs of a youth. This position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Essential Duties

  • Conducts informal and formal assessments to evaluate ability level, needs, and factors interfering with success in school, home, and community through the use of functional, behavioral and standardized assessments (such as Battelle Developmental Inventory – 2nd Edition, Sensory Profile-2, Brigance Communication Screener, Peabody, etc), skilled observation, history and interviews.
  • Engages with and supports individual client and family goals and needs in coordination with other agencies including, but not limited to, the San Andreas Regional Center (SARC), Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE), FIRST 5, and other community organizations.
  • Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to develop treatment plans and make recommendations, including home programs and referrals to other services as needed.
  • Participates in staff meetings, case conferences, training, family meetings, and professional consultation as necessary.
  • Provides caregivers and team members with education on behavioral and psychosocial approaches, self-care, coping skills, safety planning, and community interactions to enhance the youth’s daily functioning
  • Provides direct therapeutic intervention, consultation, and support to youth and families in a variety of settings.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment programs that include:
    • a. Utilizing CBT approaches to facilitate participation in desired activities
    • b. Play activities that instruct as well as aid clients in interacting and communicating with others.
    • c. Reduction of environmental barriers that limit client participation in family, learning and community-based activities.
    • d. Modification of environment to support improved attention and self-regulation.
    • e. Implementation of prevention techniques.
  • Maintains required program documentation and completes timely and accurate reports.
  • Provides re-assessment and appropriate follow up with families after services have been rendered to determine if service was successful or additional service is needed.
  • Coordinates, disseminates, and collects outcome evaluation instruments.
  • Follows states laws regarding confidential information in verbal and written communication.
  • Meets program productivity requirements.

Education Requirements

  • Masters (MA/MS) in Occupational Therapy.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year experience working with low-income children and families preferred
  • Occupational Therapist License required.

Other Specific Requirements

  • Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Child Abuse Index Check (CAIC) background clearance.
  • Valid California Driver's license with two years of experience driving and clean driving record may be required.

Work Environment/Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

In addition this position requires standing, sitting, walking, climbing, and kneeling.
