Overview

PACE Supply is actively seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our dedicated team. In this critical role, the EH&S Manager will take charge of overseeing, implementing, and managing standardized Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) processes.This position will be at the forefront, actively driving efforts to eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses, mitigate property damage, and reduce environmental impacts. This individual unwavering focus will be on enhancing and safeguarding the well-being of all employees. In addition, this position carries the responsibility of strategically planning, establishing, implementing, and sustaining comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Programs across multiple branches within PACE Supply Corp. The ultimate objective is to proactively control or eliminate risks associated with health, safety, and environmental factors. With steadfast support, the EH&S Manager will play a pivotal role in nurturing a culture deeply rooted in safety and injury prevention, making a significant contribution to our organization's commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

OSHA Compliance and Program Management

  • Establish safety policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Conduct safety risk assessments and hazard analyses.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees.
  • Cultivate a safety-focused culture within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Conduct site safety inspections of racking, warehouse, yard, and equipment. Prepare reports for branch managers and supervisors on hazards and corrective actions.
  • Review and audit site safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Perform observations on safe behaviors of employees, coach employees and supervisors on identification and correction of safe work practices.
  • Attend branch safety trainings and provide coaching on effective training techniques to safety coaches and supervisors.
  • Coordinates and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Inspects the work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.
  • Maintains and updates environmental policy and procedure manuals.

Incident Investigation

  • Conduct and lead thorough investigations when incidents, accidents, or near-misses occur.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and perform cause analysis.
  • Gather information/metrics, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to improve safety measures.
  • Prepare ARB Summary Reports and provide cause analysis for ARB review.

Training Coordination

  • Scheduling forklift certifications / CPR Certifications / Environmental Training Certifications/ OSHA Trainings.
  • Create a process to track all safety, environmental, and compliance training and follow up with each branch.
  • Scheduling forklift certifications.
  • Scheduling CPR certification.

Environmental and OSHA Reporting

  • Annual submission of HMBP on CERS.
  • Annual submission of OSHA Injury Tracking Application ITA for all 36 locations.
  • Reporting COVID cases – county and state.
  • Send OSHA 300 logs to all locations annually.

Emergency Preparedness and Response

  • Create and implement emergency response plans and protocols.
  • Coordinate emergency drills and training exercises.
  • Collaborate with local emergency services and responders.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary emergency response resources.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and Associates Degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an Safety and Health role.
  • Strong understanding of applicable policies and federal, state, and EHS laws and regulations.
  • Interpreting government and corporate EHS and OSHA regulations and policies.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
  • Expertise in conducting audits and inspections.
  • Project management skills for EHS initiatives.
  • Experience managing EHS programs across multiple locations.
  • Vendor and contractor safety performance management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration and representation.

Work Environment

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Mobility to travel to different locations, sometimes requiring long hours of driving or flights.

The physical capability to conduct site inspections, which may involve walking, climbing, and stooping.

Lifting and carrying equipment and safety gear when necessary.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Adherence to safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
