Job Details Job Location Corporate Headquarters - Morgantown, WV Position Type Full Time Description SUMMARY This paraprofessional position provides life skill and vocational skill habilitation and/or rehabilitation to individuals with disabilities in accordance with the IDD Waiver program. A Job Coach trains, monitors, and assists an individual in the Waiver Program in general work skills in a variety of work environments such as dining areas, kitchens, office buildings, and retail establishments. QUALIFICATIONS
College training and a desire to work in a mission-based non-profit organization preferred, training in a human services field of study a plus
Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
Some previous work experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and descriptive written documentation
Demonstrated ability to give clear instructions in an encouraging tone
Experience using computer applications, experience using a web-based application preferred
Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule as needed
Able to pass a Criminal Background Check
Must be able to participate and pass trainings to include but not limited to First Aid, CPR and MANDT training
A valid drivers license and proof of vehicle insurance, and must be willing to transport clients to job sites, community activities and appointments
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements and follows systematic training according to program plan requirements (i.e. habilitation plans, program plans)
Train individuals on specific work requirements according to the employment program placement
Conducts on-going assessment of the clients work skills against the demands of the work site
Supervises a client for a variety of work including janitorial and/or grounds maintenance contracts, food service and delivery, dining area services, the secure document destruction project, vehicle maintenance, building maintenance, etc.
Completes all necessary data entry and paperwork within the time frame required
Relates problems, concerns, program ideas, or other items of interest in a timely manner to the Therapeutic Consultants
Participates in periodic staff training on time and as scheduled
Attends IDT meetings to provide input as to the clients performance as requested
Advocates with employers and the community to shape a positive image of persons with disabilities
Dress to project professionalism
Provide transportation services for clients utilizing Agency and/or personal vehicle and follow the guidelines as outlined in the transportation manual
Assist an individual in a restroom, with personal or food items during breaks, with money, or as a physical support as needed
May substitute for a clients work assignment on a contract as needed
