Pace Academy is Hiring a 2024-2025 Middle School (Grade 8) Girls Basketball - Head Coach Near Atlanta, GA
MIDDLE SCHOOL (GRADE 8): GIRLS BASKETBALL – HEAD COACH
Pace Academy, an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Georgia, with an enrollment of 1150 students in pre-first through twelfth grades, has an opening for the 2024-25 basketball season.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Athletics Varsity Girls Basketball Coach
WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:
A part-time, mid-October to early-February seasonal appointment. Responsibilities include on-campus practices (3x a week with one being an early morning) and home/away games (2 hours per commitment). All coaches are employed on an annual basis and continued employment is based on a seasonal review conducted by the Director of Athletics/Varsity girls basketball head coach.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the varsity girls basketball head coach, the Middle School (Grade 8) head basketball coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the basketball program. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and Georgia High School Athletics (GHSA).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Pace Academy
- A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept;
- Basketball coaching experience;
- Effective leadership, coaching, and recruiting skills;
- Good communication skills with players, parents, and the Athletics Department;
- Energetic, creative, self-motivated, and a team player.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Team coaching with the coaching staff on a daily basis;
- Represent Pace Academy and the basketball program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship.
This is an exempt position that is paid a coaching stipend over the duration of the season.
