PAC Worldwide is Hiring a QA Technician I - 12 Hour Nights (7pm-7am) Near Phoenix, AZ

Description

As a Quality Assurance Tech I you will inspect finished product to ensure its quality is consistent with established standards. Your responsibilities will include checking product specs such as bag measurements, seal integrity, heat melt application and appearance, and entering inspection data into the computer system. You will perform regular audits of finished goods and assist in the investigation customer complaints to determine type and cause of any product failure.
This opening is for:
12 Hour Night Shift - Rotating Schedule 7pm - 7am
Shift Differential for 12 Hour Night Shift: $2.10

What do we do?

PAC Worldwide manufactures packaging materials and supplies packaging automation equipment for some of the world's top retailers. For over 40 years, we have maintained a commitment to producing high-quality products while remaining dedicated to corporate responsibility and employee wellness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct bag checks for each production machine (Bag measurements, seal integrity, proper hot melt application, and general overall appearance)
  • Release each production machine at the beginning of the shift and every set-up thereafter (Checklist of items will be provided)
  • Process product and materials that fail to meet the quality standards according to company procedures
  • Enter all inspection data on the computer system
  • Conduct incoming inspection checks for raw materials and finished goods (pulling samples for testing, performing the required tests, recording the data, releasing the material)
  • Gather product/material samples and then file and store the samples
  • Conduct audits of finished goods to ensure quality standards are being followed
  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred

Language/Communication Skills

  • Must be capable of speaking, reading and writing English with good written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret general quality procedures and test methods.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals using a calculator.
  • Ability to read ruler.

Reasoning Ability

  • Excellent attention to detail, quality, safety, problem solving and follow-up.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

  • Must be able to input inspection data in database software
  • Familiarity with MS Office required

The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee must be able to work overtime with short notice. Because Quality is a small department, there are no extra employees to cover absenteeism.
