That’s the work you’ll do every day as our in-house recruiter. We’re looking for someone who loves the hunt and has a knack for uncovering exceptional talent and building meaningful relationships. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t stop until they’ve found the right match and is deeply satisfied by being a people connector.

You will be responsible for direct sourcing to successfully hire the best candidates from individual contributor to senior leadership roles for all our Wallbank Industrial entities. Recruiting the right people is the most important variable in our growth engine and is instrumental to our vision.

Wallbank Industrial currently consists of two independent companies – PJ Wallbank Springs, Inc. (PJWS) and Edison Manufacturing & Engineering. Our vision is to create multiple operating companies, like PJWS and Edison, to maximize our impact on the world through a consistent “How.”

PJWS is the only company in the world specializing in clutch return spring packs for automotive transmissions. For over 40 years our laser-sharp focus, combined with the effort of great people, has enabled us to be the global leader in our market. We also serve customers with spring pack solutions in powertrain electrification, suspension systems, and braking applications, working across multiple vehicle application segments. As we continue to grow, we are pursuing divergent end-use cases in different industries.

Edison is a contract manufacturing partner for the companies creating the future of transportation. We work with startups introducing new products, as well as established companies as they launch new technologies, build niche products, and produce legacy products in volumes below their standard production. What You’ll Do Here

Discover & Identify

  • Primarily responsible for direct sourcing for our new and open roles.
  • Participate in sourcing strategy meetings with the team to understand what’s critical to the hiring manager.
  • Partner with our Recruitment Marketing & Talent Sourcing Manager to build the initial plan to promote the role and attract, identify, and engage with potential candidates for the role.
  • Use tools and technology to identify and engage potential candidates for open roles, such as LinkedIn, LinkedIn Recruiter, Google X-Ray, or ZoomInfo.
  • Send cold outreach messages to engage and connect with promising candidates.
  • Understand what’s important to the candidate and skillfully position how we meet their needs.
  • Manage external postings for each open role and collaborate with the Recruitment Marketing & Talent Sourcing Manager to ensure we have the right messaging to attract qualified candidates.
  • Communicate with qualified applicants to schedule and conduct phone screens. Take detailed notes and share a summary of all candidates recommended to advance to the interview stage with the hiring manager.

Engage & Assess Qualified Candidates

  • Coordinate with the candidate and internal interview panel to schedule all virtual and in-person interviews, as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with candidates, guiding them through the recruitment process.
  • Participate in the interview panel, as needed for the role.
  • Prepare interview guides and scorecards for the role, as needed.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure a smooth sourcing and hiring process and identify the right candidates.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning interviews and employment.
  • Track and report key recruitment metrics and make recommendations to improve our processes based on insights from metrics.

Nurture & Support Pipeline Building

  • Participate in the planning and execution of community-based pipeline-building initiatives, as assigned

  • High degree of competency in sourcing exceptional candidates across the spectrum of position types, from senior executive to key professional roles, in manufacturing and related service organizations
  • Ability to design and implement creative recruiting and direct sourcing methodologies
  • Ability to employ content-valid, behaviorally-based candidate evaluation methodologies
  • Ability to compose position profiles that describe functional accountabilities and associated qualifying competencies, based on information provided
  • Knowledge of industries relevant to our business and products, including an understanding of manufacturing environments relevant to our strategic directions
  • Able to work remotely, but available for onsite recruitment work and meetings as necessary

First Year Objectives

  • Within first month, gains a full understanding and knowledge of Wallbank Industrial’s recruitment philosophy, processes, and decision-making.
  • Reduce overall time-to-hire from prior year and hit time-to-hire targets established by position without compromising on our high standards for the individuals joining our team.
  • Assess our current direct sourcing recruitment processes and use your experience to make it more efficient and productive within first 3 months.

Location 

The individual for this role is not expected to be in the office every day. Frequency of time spent at our headquarters in Port Huron, Michigan will be mutually agreed upon. Ideally, the individual resides within driving distance and can be onsite as needed to support the recruitment and hiring process..
