This position is located at 1000 Buchanan Rd., Branson MO 65616
This position requires a split shift working Before school hours 6:30 am to 8:30 am and after school ours 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm Monday - Friday..

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Y Academy staff at Ozarks Regional YMCA ensures that childcare programs meet community needs including supervising children, implementing existing program activities and meeting its intended goals. This is not babysitting! The position involves actively engaging with children, teaching, creating and openly communicating. All required training is provided.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Responsible for programming and management of PT staff at assigned location: leadership with support and strategic planning; curriculum implementation, quality control and safety standards.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service to program participants and their guardians/families. 
  3. Plan and implement sound youthprogramming in a safe, enjoyable environment which ensures social, spiritual, and mental development.
  4. Oversee program participants and staff in various settings and on a wide variety of weekly activities.
  5. Provide and adhere to safety guidelines as established by the Association.
  6. Maintain daily, weekly & monthly paperwork & meet submission deadlines 
  7. Ensure effective written & verbal communication between staff, participants and guardians.
  8. Serves as a role model of outstanding leadership. 
  9. Model relationship-building skills 
  10. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with school district served.
  11. Completes required initial & annual trainings, and maintains MOPD (Missouri Professional Development) account.
  12. Participate in special events & School Days Out as determined in staff handbook & calendar
  13. Always follows YMCA policies and guidelines.
  1. Must attend required staff trainings and meetings throughout the year.
  1. Wear staff uniform & name badge 
  1. Must learn and adhere to all State Licensing Requirements.
  1. Completion of New Hire Orientation form.
  1. Comply with all Food Program requirements & understand Federal Funding connection.
  2. Follow general direction and perform other duties as assigned by directors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be 18 years of age or older. 
  2. Minimum of 2 years working in childcare, education or similar program preferred.
  3. Must be available throughout the School Year, M-F during program hours.
  4. The incumbent must align with and will consistently exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.
  5. CPR & First Aid Certification required within first 30 days (training can be provided).
  6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  7. Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  8. Complete and pass both FCSR (Family Care Safety Registry) & fingerprint background screening
  9. Documentation of state required medical exam and TB Risk Assessment within 30 days. 
  10. Reliable transportation required.

  7. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be louder at times
