Description

SUMMARY: The Master Electrician will take the full responsibility for the at ready state of all equipment and supporting infrastructure for the Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company assets related to the production, Safety, and Quality of the business focus.

The Master Electrician will perform professional troubleshooting and electrical repair for all primary and support equipment. They will possess a high level of technical understanding within their craft and have the ability to transfer this knowledge and skill to others. The Master Electrician will create training material specific to the technology, deploy training sessions, and validate transfer of knowledge, within the department. Schedule work that needs to be completed during non-production hours and support complete preventive and predictive maintenance and troubleshooting of the electrical components of production equipment. The Electrician is responsible for the installation and repair of electrical systems in the company facilities. They test, troubleshoot, and replace electrical components to ensure systems function safely and efficiently. Master electricians also train and mentor others. The position will also be responsible for figuring out electrical component needs and working with the Parts department in maintaining required spares in the parts inventory.

As a Master Electrician, you will work with the maintenance team to maintain and repair electrical service for the facilities and equipment to support operations uptime and improve the reliability of our systems. This role is the resident expert in electrical systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Maintain compliance with all safety, food safety, and company standards.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on electrical system and components.
  • Create and maintain electrical drawing and plant one lines, and lead root cause analysis of major downtime events involving electrical issues.
  • Perform troubleshooting of equipment and electrical control systems and correct issues.
  • Act as an escalation point for lower-level technicians and escalate to leadership and/or vendors as needed.
  • Mentor all maintenance personnel in developing proper skill sets and knowledge of equipment, specializing in electrical.
  • Lead efforts on safe work practices for the team and follow all Company/safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop maintenance personnel knowledge on intermediate to advanced electrical system and controls.
  • Partner with engineering contractors on commissioning of new controls systems
  • Audit vendors work to supply feedback to leadership on quality of work and SLA performance.
  • Write and/or modify PMs to standardize repairs and increase effectiveness.
  • Perform building project work as assigned to include installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
  • Attend training to obtain safety certifications to train other employees and follow OSHA/ ISO standards.
  • Complete training as needed to stay up to date on certifications.
  • Perform after-hours support to help remediate electrical/control issues that may arise.
  • Come into work as needed to provide support during off shifts and manage schedule to maintain working hours per week.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

COMPETENCIES: Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, drawings, wiring diagrams and equipment manuals. Utilize your strong knowledge of electrical systems, including high voltage and low voltage applications, and troubleshooting to enhance all aspects of production operations are properly maintained. Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete projects on time and within budget.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Education and/or Experience: High school graduate or equivalent, relevant license or certification, and proven experience as a Master Electrician.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and compliance guidelines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, with ability to present information to management.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied in both written and verbal format. Success to be measured against the metrics of Unscheduled Downtime, Equipment failures and Adherence to the production schedule.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office computer skills.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license, current vehicle liability insurance, and driving record within Company MVR policy guidelines.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to use proven leadership skills and work in a team environment to mentor and train other employees including the use of tests to determine the amount of training needed. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.

The employee must lift, push, pull, carry and/or move 10 to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.
