Ozarks Coca-Cola-Dr Pepper Bottling Company is Hiring a Driver - Full Service (Rt 206) Near Springfield, MO

Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for delivery of full product to the vendor; filling and cleaning, maintaining accurate sales records, while providing inventory and cash accountability in accordance with Company Policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Perform the following activities prior to leaving the facility for the day – collect route book, money bags, change fund more than needed, price decals, POS, keys (to be secured on person at all times), unserved customer list from prior day, cleaning/tool kit, trash bags. Responsible for receiving keys, money bags, change fund from opening manager.
  • Perform the check out for the product on delivery truck as beginning inventory, ensure count matches inventory truck levels, make necessary inventory adjustments, report inventory count to opening manager, load all assigned delivery equipment, close all trailer doors. 
  • Complete pre trip to include inspection of vehicle, check fuel, oil and water levels of vehicle, check brakes, tires and lights, adjust all mirrors for safe operation of equipment, check and secure the hand cart, Geotab and DOT compliance.
  • Service all customers schedule for the day.
  • Check appearance of the vendor to include lights, vend strips, price decals.
  • When arriving at an account, greet decision maker, when possible, review all POS to ensure it is clean, check for proper price decals for all products, remove all posters and graffiti from vendors, clean outside of vendor report any sign of vandalism to your supervisor immediately, make note of any uncompetitive activities for later discussion with supervisor.
  • Inspect the inside of the vendor to include – test of the validator, clean and check the condenser, clean the coin acceptor, check and remove any damaged product.
  • Properly fill the vendor to include – fill each column to its designated capacity in units, record meter, fills, over/under counts, product changes in handheld. Print invoice and place in money bag. Collect all money from the validator and changer/coin box and place in money bag, maintain the changer to prescribed levels as determined by company standards, address all refund requests, test vend the vendor with coins, and lock/secure the vendor.
  • Before leaving the vendor – all attempts should be made to correct any service issues, if issues remain contact the service group prior to leaving the account, place all money into truck safe, if possible, thank the decision maker for his business, pickup all trash and empty cans, secure hand cart and all bay doors before proceeding to next stop.
  • Must have the ability to identify and understand customer requirements.

Requirements

COMPETENCIES: Good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skill.

Follow good manufacturing and housekeeping practices. Follow/comply with all safety guidelines, wear designated PPE and comply with all OSHA safety standards. 

Be properly attired when arriving at work to include – proper uniform (clean and pressed), hat (Coke identified only), black hard toe polished shoes (no tennis shoes), facial hair that is professional looking, meaning the facial hair is groomed, trimmed, short, and maintained in such a way as to not be ragged, sloppy, scraggly, or patchy, hair well groomed, and good personal hygiene.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Valid Class A CDL license.

  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. 
  • Language Skills: Ability to read. Ability to respond to Customer and employee inquires. Good communication skills required.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals 
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied both written and verbal.

Computer Skills: General computer skills required. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Class A CDL license, current vehicle liability insurance, and driving record within MVR policy guidelines.

Other Skills and Abilities: None.

Other Qualifications: Ability to operate a manual/powered pallet jack to lift/move product.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Required daily.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch/kneel bend and reach.

The employee will be on feet for multiple hours, moving, bending, lifting, stacking, un-stacking, squatting, and stretching in displaying product. Helpers cannot be used.

The employee must lift, carry, push/pull and/or move from 10 to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee will be required to wear safety shoes/boots while on duty.
