Position Description:

The Automation Tester supports and independently completes test orchestration across the software development lifecycle and will require problem solving using analysis, experience, and decision making. This position supports the Department of Veterans Affairs and is performed remotely.

Minimum/General Experience: 1-5 years of experience as an Automation Tester. One year of experience with Selenium is required.

Minimum Education: Bachelors' Degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; or additional 4 years of experience. Test Automation Engineer International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Agile Tester Certification (preferred).

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of automation tools, specifically Selenium
• Excellent experience writing test plans and test cases
• Excellent experience creating and executing automation test scripts
• Excellent ability to collaborate with testers, system engineers, business owners, and users
• Excellent ability to understand the functionality of the system and the requirements within the user stories
• Excellent experience working in an Agile/SAFe Scrum team environment
• Experience with integration and API testing
• Experience with Postman or other API testing tools
• Above average ability in using various testing methodologies
• Expert ability to support industry best practices
• Expert problem solving and analysis skills
• Expert troubleshooting and decision-making skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:

• Support and independently complete test orchestration across the software development lifecycle
• Perform analysis of user requirements to assist with the creation of test plans
• Create appropriate test cases based on acceptance criteria
• Create and execute automation test scripts
• Report results of automated test scenarios
• Record, log, and track defects in the system
• Contribute to all testing related activities throughout the full lifecycle of the project
• Document and assist in the resolution of complex problems
• Use defect management and test management tools
• Collaborate with system engineers, business owners, and users
