7th Grade Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our team at Oxford Middle School. As a Science Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire young minds, foster curiosity, and cultivate a love for scientific inquiry among our middle school students.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons that align with the science curriculum and state standards.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and motivated to excel in science.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and enhance student comprehension.
• Develop and implement hands-on laboratory experiments and investigations to reinforce scientific concepts and encourage critical thinking skills.
• Assess student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to promote student success and contribute to the overall educational community.

Qualifications:

• Connecticut State Teaching Certification in Science (or eligibility for certification) (033, 034 233, 234)
• Prior experience teaching middle school science is desirable but not required.
• Strong knowledge of middle school science content and instructional best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Passion for working with adolescents and fostering a positive learning environment.

Salary per OEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
