Title: Automation Specialist

Location: Richmond, KY – Per Diem allowance will be provided to cover lodging & expenses

Duration: 12 months on W2 contract w/possibility for extension

Status: Must be a U.S citizen to qualify

Overview:

Currently seeking an experienced Automation Specialist for the SDC 1200 at the BGCAPP Project located in Richmond, Kentucky. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in executing automation tasks within a chemical demilitarization facility, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency. Under minimal supervision, the Automation Specialist will specialize in a designated functional area, such as robotics, conveyors, or automated systems, while providing technical leadership and support to systemization teams. This role entails analyzing, implementing, and modifying control systems to optimize plant operations and ensure seamless functionality.

Responsibilities:

• Execute all tasks with a primary focus on safety, adhering to environmental regulations and permits.
• Work flexible hours, including overtime and shift work, as necessary to support project demands.
• Conduct independent evaluation, selection, and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Specialize in a functional area, providing technical expertise and occasionally assuming lead responsibilities for project teams.
• Analyze, implement, evaluate, and modify control systems to enhance process monitoring and efficiency.
• Provide programming and PLC hardware support during systemization testing and plant operations.
• Develop and modify control software in accordance with demilitarization coding procedures.
• Troubleshoot PLC hardware and associated control system components during upset conditions.
• Monitor vendor installations to ensure technical feasibility and compliance.
• Assist in preparing and executing test plans and procedures for process control systems.
• Develop and review standard operating and maintenance procedures for control systems.
• Maintain documentation and configuration management in accordance with project procedures.

Qualifications:

• All levels will be considered
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field is preferred
• Must be a US citizen able to obtain and maintain site access.
• Proficiency in common software applications and general office equipment operation.
• Fitness-for-duty standards must be maintained.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to understand technical documents.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in developing, analyzing, and modifying complex Distributed Control System (DCS) or similar systems.
• Experience with Explosive Destruction Technology (EDT) control systems.
• Experience with analyzing Human Machine Interface (HMI) software.
• Knowledge of network systems and related components.
• Education/training in systems programming and analysis.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
