We are seeking a skilled Swimming Pool Equipment Repair Technician to join our team at Oxbow Pool and Landscape Contractors. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing and repairing various types of swimming pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and automated control systems. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections and troubleshoot issues with swimming pool equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair pumps, filters, heaters, and other pool equipment as needed.
  • Install, maintain, and upgrade swimming pool systems and components.
  • Test equipment functionality and ensure proper operation.
  • Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain repair options and cost estimates.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and inventory.

Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Proven experience in swimming pool equipment repair and maintenance, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with a demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues efficiently.
  • In-depth familiarity with a variety of pool equipment brands and models, including but not limited to pumps, filters, heaters, and automated control systems.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely completion of repairs and installations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients to explain repair options, provide cost estimates, and address any concerns.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, with the ability to travel to various job sites as required.
  • Certification in pool equipment repair or related field is highly desirable, such as Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF), or similar credentials.
  • Additional certifications or specialized training in specific areas of pool equipment repair, such as saltwater pool systems, automation, and equipment installation/repairs, will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Fluent English language proficiency and strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information and interact with team members and clients.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education, with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and learning within the field of swimming pool equipment repair and maintenance.

Job Type: Hourly, Full-time

Pay: $25.00 -$30.00/ Per Hour BOE

Work Location: Job sites vary primarily and between Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties.

Work Environment: Work is performed in outdoor environments; some exposure to varying temperatures; exposure to dust, steam, controlled and hazardous substances, pesticides, herbicides, gases and chemicals; working around electrical current, and moving machinery parts; regular contact with staff and the public

Equipment Used: Frequent use Excavators, skid steers, and loaders, or general construction and landscaping tools.

Essential Physical Tasks: Frequently sit for extended periods; stand and walk or crouch on uneven surfaces and may occasionally be required to lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects, office equipment, plants, or tools ; physical ability to push and pull objects weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication;
