SUMMARY:

The Floor Tech cleans all floor areas of the facility in a Professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Custodial Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs routine cleaning of the floors on the assigned facility in a neat and sanitary manner.
• Mops, a sweeps, scrubs, and strips floor, applies floor sealers and finishes.
• Full vacuuming will be required in traffic areas and any visible debris on carpets.
• Spot clean carpets as needed, utilizing extraction and bonneting methods.
• Maintain hard floors with no build up in corners and provide dust mop.
• Polish floor using buffing products to restore shine high gloss and uniform appearance to the traffic areas.
• Must maintain and keep equipment clean and in good operational conditions.
• Secures the work area with all Safety Signs.
• Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
• Locks and unlicks doors and windows to offices and other rooms as necessary. Turns off lights when rooms are unoccupied.
• Works day, evening or night shift as assigned.
• Must do work on his/her own with normal supervision.
• Observes safety precautions at all times.
• Perform related work as directed.
• At the end of the shift equipment must be left clean and ready to use including cleaning materials.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED preferred. One year of related experience and training or a combination of education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Apply common sense understanding to follow instructions that were provided.
• Must be able to communicate and understand English.

TYPES OF CHEMICALS USED:

In General we use Green Products. In this account you will be using Grout cleaners, deodorizers, Germicidal, glass cleaner and Stainless Steel Polish Oil. Other products that are use are Floor finishers, spot remover, floor cleaners and other floor products.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bends 20% of the time during a 6.5 hours shift.
• Carry 5 to 10 pounds during 10% of the shift.
• Grasp 75% of the time during the shift.
• Kneel 5% times during the shift while carrying 0-1 pounds.
• Lift Floor to Waist 10% of the time during the shift while carrying 5-10 pounds.
• Pull and Push 70% of the time during the shift while carrying 10-20 pounds.
• Squats 2%-5% of time during the shift
• Stands 80% of the time during the shift while carrying 1-5 pounds.
• Twist 70% of the time during the shift while carrying 1-5 pounds.
• During the shift walks 70% while carrying 1-5 pounds.
