POSITION TITLE: Administrative Specialist- Special Education DATE: April 2024 CLASSIFICATION: Confidential REPORTS TO: Supervisors of Special Education LOCATION: Warwick FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
POSITION GOAL: Provide administrative and clerical support to the Supervisors of Special Education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide administrative and clerical support to the Supervisors of Special Education.
Provide general word processing responsibilities for the office of coordinator of special education/ psychological services.
Maintain special education and Chapter 15 student files such as 504, disabled, gifted, speech/language, occupational therapy, and out of district.
Maintain database on all special education students and generate printouts for staff.
Process permissions to evaluate and reevaluate evaluation reports and related correspondence.
Maintain accurate special education class lists.
Process special education, district, IU and state forms and reports and related correspondence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.
High School diploma or equivalent required. General business training/degree and related experience preferred.
Proficient secretarial skills, including organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets and database.
Ability to demonstrate diplomacy when dealing with community members, parents, teachers, staff and external contacts, and to maintain confidentiality.
Submission of PA School Personnel Health form.
Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.
This position description does not express or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the incumbent in this position. The employee will be required to perform any other position-related duties as requested by the supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
12 months, 8 hours per day.
Starting at $24.00 hourly; Salary and benefits according to the agreement between the Board of School Directors and the Confidential Employees.
