Senior Estimator/Preconstruction Manager Position:

Senior estimators are responsible for obtaining work thru competitive bidding as well as providing quantity takeoffs and budgets for negotiated contracts. The senior estimator is expected to work closely with the project stakeholders including but not limited to owners and owner representatives, engineers, inspectors, testing labs, etc. They must be able to comprehend the information found in the construction documents, and must be able to clearly communicate that information to others. They must be able to work effectively with different personalities. Strong attention to detail is a must and they must also keep track of all project documentation including but not limited to bid documents, addendums, RFIs, design correspondence, budgets, etc. Must have knowledge of construction related scopes of work. Aviation or K-12 related experience a plus.

Primary Function:
Responsible for assembly of accurate bid proposals and budget estimates and obtaining profitable work of commercial construction-management projects. Candidates will be considered only with 7 years of commercial construction experience.

General Responsibilities:
Read all project documents thoroughly to gain a clear understanding of the project objectives
Coordinate work with superintendents, architects and engineers to establish priorities
Plan and implement all aspects of competitive bidding and budgeting
Maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, architects and engineers 

Knowledge and Skills:
Strong technical and communication skills are critical
Excellent organizational, and problem-solving skills
Above average computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Project and knowledge of Procore or similar construction software

Experience with reading blueprints and project specifications

Proficiency with On Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam a plus

Ability to estimate projects
Self-motivated with keen attention to detail
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to stand alone on project
