Outreach is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Part Time Social Worker / Counselor to work in our Adolescent Residential Program located in Brentwood, NY. The Social Worker / Mental Health Counselor is responsible for the delivery of direct clinical services in a substance abuse treatment setting. The schedule is 19 hours per week, evenings preferable.

What You Will Do:

• Facilitate various formats (e.g. individuals, groups, specialty groups) on time and in a professional, ethical and caring manner. Manage all aspects of a caseload from date of entry to date of discharge with special attention to appropriate levels of care and appropriate clinical interventions
• Provide backup coverage in the event of other clinical staff absences
• Demonstrate initiative in task identification and completion; use time efficiently in working with the Program Director and Program Coordinator to effectively handle volume of work
• Address program issues with the Program Director, which pertain to strategic objectives, annual plan and overall delivery of services
• Participate in and support agency quality improvement programs; support actions to improve care and services based on outcome data

Who You Are:

• Advanced degree required; LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or higher preferred
• Limited permit or clinical master’s level candidate with relevant experience will be considered
• 2-3 years of experience with substance abuse disorders
• 1-2 years of experience working with clients with co-occurring and mental health problems
• 1-2 years of experience working in an OASAS funded facility a plus
• Commitment to providing quality services and outcome-driven performance measures
• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
• Experience with AVATAR electronic health records a plus
• Bilingual Spanish or Polish a plus
