Outerknown is looking for a Senior Manager of Construction to support the rapid expansion of Outerknown retail stores. This individual will be at the forefront of this growth and is responsible for guiding the overall vision and direction of retail store construction, including delivering new stores, implementing simple yet elegant store processes to support facility operations, and leading edge systems and processes to delight our customers. This leader is someone who spearheads and oversees the overall retail construction and facility operations functions of the company. It is their duty to set goals and budgets, establish guidelines and timelines, streamline roadmaps, gather and analyze data to identify the strengths and weaknesses of store construction processes, develop solutions against vulnerable areas, and create strategies to optimize performance. Moreover, as a Senior Manager, it is essential to lead and encourage staff to reach goals while enforcing the company's policies and regulations, and implementing new ones as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees all Retail Store construction functions, from project initiation through completion
• Works collaboratively with the Retail Leadership teams to ensure daily facility operations positively impact customer interactions and the teammate experience.
• Works with partners, vendors, and subcontractors to translate and define business requirements that support effective store execution
• Creates and implements Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to efficiently perform construction duties and decrease process timelines 
• Manages risk and issues with ownership and accountability for completing new stores on time and within budget
• Monitors project costs and recommends ways to increase profitability. Ensure that material price fluctuations are monitored and adjusted accordingly. 
• Partners with Technology team to implement and refine operational support systems, including POS inventory management
• Plans and executes full fleet rollouts of new policies, processes, and systems; build and maintain realistic project plans and provide executive updates as needed
• Travels to states of operation to assess project progress, quality and guarantee all safety measures are being followed 
• Oversees, plans and gate keeps daily retail facilities operations, including cross-functional workload planning and task coordination
• Manages Retail Support model, leveraging systems and business partner participation to provide a high level of service and responsiveness to store support facility requests
• Ensures the Outerknown culture is portrayed through engaging written communications and verbal updates
• Additional responsibilities as assigned to support broader Retail Construction and Facility Operations function
• Responsible for supporting the new store real estate development process

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations Management degrees preferred
• 8 years of experience in HQ retail construction, operations or management consulting
• Strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical ability with impeccable attention to detail
• Experienced in project management tools and methodology
• Proven communication skills with cross-functional partners and executive audiences
• Self-starter with a strong desire to spend time in stores understanding stakeholder impacts
• Ability to travel to Retail Store locations up to 50%
