Overview: As the Maintenance Director of Palace Care Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facility. Your responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of maintenance, managing maintenance staff, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, the ability to be hands-on with the activities of the maintenance staff and a passion for creating a comfortable and secure environment for our residents and staff.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance Management:
Oversee all maintenance activities within the nursing home, including building systems, equipment, grounds, and vehicles.
Develop and implement maintenance policies, procedures, and schedules to ensure optimal functioning of all facilities and equipment.
Coordinate with department heads to prioritize maintenance tasks and address urgent issues promptly.
Team Leadership:
Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
Organize and schedule Maintenance activities of maintenance assistants.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.
Preventive Maintenance:
Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime, extend equipment lifespan, and reduce operating costs.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and implement corrective measures proactively.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment warranties, and service contracts.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Life safety and all applicable regulations, codes, and standards related to building maintenance, safety, and environmental health, and maintaining up-to-date life safety logs
Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in maintenance management to continuously improve operational efficiency and safety.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking spending, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with senior management to prioritize capital projects and allocate resources effectively to support the long-term sustainability of the facility.
Emergency Response:
Develop and implement emergency response plans to address crises such as power outages, severe weather, or equipment failures.
Plan and conduct emergency response and fire drills.
Coordinate with other departments and external vendors to ensure timely resolution of emergencies and minimize disruptions to resident care.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in maintenance management, in a skilled nursing or other healthcare facility.
Ability to be hands-on with departmental activities.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other relevant trades.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices in healthcare facility maintenance.
Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, staff, and external stakeholders.
