Our Lady’s Academy, located in Waltham, MA is seeking a Middle School Religion Teacher encompassing grades 6. 7 and 8. Our Lady’s Academy provides a rigorous education in a faith-based environment where students of all faiths are welcome and valued. The Middle School Religion teacher will provide an energetic, creative and compassionate classroom where students feel welcome and enjoy learning about the Catholic faith. Qualifications and responsibilities for this position are as follows:Qualifications•Practicing Catholic in good standing with a knowledge and understanding of Church teachings and a willingness to support the school’s Catholic mission and identity, in collaboration with the Pastor and Principal•Experience with instructional technology, especially with the G Suite.GoogleApps for Education •Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited college or university with aDegree in Theology and Religious Studies preferred•Some youth Ministry and faith formation experience•Comfortable with technology including Google Suite for EducationResponsibilities•Must have completed or willing to complete training in teaching Protecting God’s Children and Creative for Love curriculum•Teach six sections of Middle School Religion in alignment with the school’s established curriculum and standards for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston•Attend regular grade-level meetings with other members of the Middle School Team•Participation in at least one faculty committee per academic year•Regular lunch, recess and dismissal duties according to the teacher designed schedule duties•Planning and organizing First Friday and Hoy day Masses, in collaboration with the Pastor, Parish Music Director, and Children’s Choir Director•With the help of the faculty, lead regular school-wide prayer services including the Rosary (in the fall) and Stations of the Cross (during lent)•Other duties as assigned by the Principal and PastorPlease send a resume nd letters of reference to Chndra Minor via School Spring.
