Schedule: Schedule TBD, but some late hours until 6:00pm are required.

About the Role

You will be responsible for providing social work and therapeutic services to Our House clients, specifically children, to help meet the biopsychosocial needs of those clients. You will work closely with direct service staff, the on-site medical clinic, and the rest of the Mental Health Team to provide stream-lined, collaborative care for the children and families using an interdisciplinary approach to ensure that all aspects of a child’s needs are being met.

What You’ll Do

  • Obtain a full caseload of children ages 3 to 17 and provide individual mental health therapy for the child
  • Provide diagnostic and comprehensive assessments to children and families using a strengths based approach
  • Provide intake appointments with new clients and complete a biopsychosocial to obtain all pertinent information in order to provide treatment for the child
  • Create individualized treatment plan goals and objectives utilizing SMART goals and assess/monitor these goals quarterly to provide quality mental health care for children
  • Provide monthly parent meetings to discuss students progression or regression in therapy and to engage parents/families in the treatment plan process
  • Abide by HIPAA protocol with case notes for each client and keep up with these each week after you see a child for therapy
  • Engage in and create social emotional learning (SEL) group therapy for toddlers, Pre-K, and school age children
  • Provide in-classroom social and emotional support as needed
  • Attend all relevant meetings on campus to advocate for clients such as staffing, supervision, and meetings with other program staff
  • Participate and help with parenting classes that are offered on campus
  • Research and refer clients to Our House programs and other community and government resources
  • Be trained and well-versed in evidence based practices appropriate to working with children of all ages (infants, toddlers, youth, and teens)
  • Be well-versed in Conscious Discipline, SPARK, trauma-informed care, poverty-informed care, recovery model, two-generation approach, interdisciplinary approach, and other best practices as appropriate
  • Coordinate closely with Our House Case Managers, Children’s Program team members, Mental Health Team, Social Work interns, and on-site medical clinic staff to ensure full collaboration with a client’s full support team to coordinate their behavioral and primary health care
  • When possible, supervise, coach, and support social work interns or trainees, and be a champion of Our House as a learning lab for those in the social work community
  • Be available and well trained in crisis intervention situations with children and be knowledgeable and available to assist with assessments such as Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ9), and other appropriate measurement tools 
  • Maintain client confidentiality and ensure that all clients are treated fairly and with respect and that Our House maintains an environment that is inclusive and safe for all people
  • Conduct other duties as assigned to fulfill Our House’s mission

What You’ll Bring

  • LMSW, LCSW, LAC, or LPC
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience working with children and families in poverty, distress, and/or homelessness and near homelessness
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
  • Proficiency in basic word processing, Excel, and data entry
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

Requirements

  • Must be an LMSW, LCSW, LAC, or LPC
  • Master’s degree is required
  • Must maintain licensure and all required continuing education
  • COVID-19 vaccination required or must meet the legal guidelines for an exemption
  • Must be able to pass criminal background checks, child and adult maltreatment registry checks, sex offender registry checks, and a pre-employment drug screen
