OUR CHILDREN HOMESTEAD is Hiring a Foster Parent Coach-Family Support Specialist Near Naperville, IL

Do you have a degree in social work or a related field and want to gain more “hands on” experience outside of filing, transporting or conducting visits? Do you excel in connecting with others? Do you desire to expand in your social work career but are unsure where to start? If so, becoming a Family Support Specialist would be a great way to start!

This is a Full-Time position that will be part of Our Children’s Homestead Clinical Division and will report to the Training Coordinator. Compensation for this position will be $38,000-$40,000 and will be determined by educational credentials as well as experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Visit each foster home on a weekly basis to observe and provide performance feedback to Treatment Foster Parents, based on the Together Facing the Challenge curriculum.
  • Collaborate with Treatment Foster Parents, providing psycho-education and support to ensure the youth’s treatment plan is implemented effectively.
  • Problem solve with Treatment Foster Parents to address problem behaviors and acknowledge pro-social behaviors.
  • Assist with Treatment Foster Parent skill acquisition through use of modeling, role-playing, and practicing.
  • Ensure every household member is a part of the treatment.
  • This role provides 24 hour crisis interventions to families on a weekly rotating on-call schedule.
  • Facilitate Treatment Foster Parent Support Groups and training's
  • Complete annual Treatment Foster Parent evaluations
  • Participate in Child and Family Team Meetings
  • Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Child Welfare Professionals
  • Participate in regular individual and group supervision
  • Maintain awareness of all updates and active DCFS/OCH policies and procedures.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 2 years of experience in child welfare with a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (Includes degrees, licenses and/or registrations)

Minimum of 2 years of experience in child welfare.
