This role is responsible for supporting the Family Development Services Manager. Overseeing and guiding the Resource Specialist Team with case review, HHSC, and other data systems. Act as a guide to the front desk receptionists regarding any Resource Specialist appointments, screening calls, as well as emails from partner agencies when needing resources and appts. Attend meetings when applicable to the Resource Team and assist Family Development Services Manager with training. This position manages a small caseload (50% of job responsibility) and assists individuals and families in crises, assessing their needs and strengths, developing a services plan in partnership with the individual or family.
Responsibilities Include
  • Assist the Family Development Services Manager with general oversight and coordination of the Resource Specialist team.
  • In collaboration with the Family Development Manager, provide training and general support to the Resource Specialist, to ensure services are provided in a respectful, strengths- based & professional manner.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with partner organizations, screening referrals (calls, emails, and HHSC) when resources and appointments are requested.
  • Serve as the organization’s primary liaison with Energy.
  • Serve as backup for emergency appointments when a member of the Resource Specialist team calls in sick.
  • Serve as the backup when the Family Development Services Manager is not available.
  • In collaboration with the Family Development Manager, coordinate coverage for all uncovered appointments resulting from a Resource Specialist calling in sick or on vacation. This includes conducting appointments as needed.
  • Meet regularly with the Family Development Services Manager.
  • Manage a small caseload meeting with participants regularly to coordinate service plans and provide the necessary support to promote the successful achievement of identified goals.
  • Connect individuals/families to community resources that support the achievement of the participant’s identified goals.
  • Evaluate and provide direct financial assistance (rent, utilities, or other areas of need) to participants as approved by the Resource Specialist team and Family Development Services Manager.
  • Assist participants with determining eligibility for public benefits and accessing applicable benefits and services.
  • Screens and provides appropriate referral and warm handoff to housing programs such as the Inn Between, Boulder County Housing and Human Services, Housing Stabilization Program, and Home Steady.
  • Timely and accurately enter the required intake, eligibility data, and services provided into the case management database HHSC.
  • Attend required or assigned internal and external meetings/trainings.
  • Work closely with various community partners including the SVVSD and Boulder County Housing and Human Services
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and positive relationship with partner agencies and the broader community, including but not limited to COL, BOCO HHS programs, partner organizations, and landlords.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Comply with all privacy laws and regulations that apply to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.
  • Hold all confidential information in trust and strict confidence. Understand and agree that it shall be used only for the purposes required to fulfill employment obligations, and shall not be used for any other purpose, or disclosed to any third party.
Education/Experience Required
  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the OUR Center.
  • Undergraduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Development, or related studies preferred and/or an equivalent combination of Postsecondary education and/or related professional experience required.
  • A minimum of two years of related experience in the human services profession. Written and verbal communication proficiency in both English and Spanish (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with individuals who may not share the same value system or behavioral norms. Ability to support challenging participants and effectively de-escalate difficult situations.
  • Ability to work as a collaborative member in a team environment with a variety of people.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize competing demands to meet necessary deadlines, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and partner with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), managing multiple calendars within Office 365, as well as the ability to use other software programs.
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly evolving environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility.
  • An understanding of the importance of maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Valid Driver’s license, insurance, and safe driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and flexible.
Physical Demands
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Regular use of a computer.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required.
