OU Center For Public Management is Hiring a Special Projects Manager Near Norman, OK

As a Special Projects Manager, you will lead and oversee critical initiatives and projects important to the organization. Your role is to plan, execute, and deliver these projects successfully, ensuring they align with organizational goals and drive business outcomes.

Position Summary

To manage and coordinate the implementation of general projects and provide support for organization wide efforts. Perform complex and varied professional administrative and analytical work in the development, implementation, administration and reporting of programs and projects. This position will typically manage projects of varying complexity, exercising independent judgment and the ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision. Collaborates with andreceives general direction from Director of Operations and Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and provide support for enterprise wide tools, communication sites and channels.
  • Coordinate, consult, and communicate with other programs and customers for assigned projects.
  • Assist with start-up programs and staffing initiatives.
  • Conduct special studies involving research and analysis of complex and sensitive information; develop recommendations and alternative solutions and implement initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of documentation as required related to the overall administration of projects.
  • Develop project charters, critical path or project flow diagrams to plan and evaluate progress on project tasks.
  • Improve process efficiency, workflow, and deliverables in identified areas.
  • Occasional supervision of temporary project staff.

Qualifications

· Ability to think strategically, align projects with organizational goals, and make decisions that contribute to overall business success.

· Flexibility and adaptability to work in dynamic environments and manage projects across various industries and domains.

· Project management methods and best practices.

· Principles and methods of research and analysis.

· Implement and change management best practices.

· Organizational skills and resourcefulness in working through projects.

· Experience in program/program management

Rate of Pay: Temporary Employee Status - $25 an hour

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm generally, hybrid work arrangement with part-time on-site requirements and some remote work opportunity.

Location: Norman, Oklahoma

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

  • Monday to Friday
