The Church Business Assistant would follow through with various financial functions including but not limited to preparation of vouchers for accounts payable, making checks available for signers, and mailing payments to proper vendors)
Shifts Available: Part time 4 to 6 hours per week
Responsibilities:
Assist in proper record keeping.
Assist in compliance issues of various financial institutions
Assist in reporting to the general church
Assist in data entry for giving and other income. Be able to generate receipts, acknowledgements and giving statements when appropriate
Other projects as assigned
Skills Needed:
To possess written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Advanced ability to work independently and work with our team and residents
Highly proficient use of computers and common applications such as Word, Publisher, Excel and other software used for specific tasks
Maintain strict confidentiality of all information; practice professional and ethical methods
Initiative and follow through of work tasks and assignments
Positive, professional and supportive attitude
Qualifications:
Meet required skill set
Previous financial or related experience
Knowledgeable in the polity and procedures of the United Methodist Church
High school graduate or higher education
